Graduate Students

Lyvia Chriki
(2nd year graduate student - OSU Clinical Psychology). Lyvia joined the MAPS lab in 2008, after completing her undergraduate degree at Simmons College. Before starting graduate school, Lyvia worked as a research assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Cambridge Health Alliance in Boston. She is interested in psychotherapy treatment and outcome, Borderline Personality Disorder, emotion regulation, and investigating ways to enhance emotion regulation abilities in order to help individuals cope more effectively with intense emotions. She will be working on her master's thesis this coming year and will be investigating the relationship among high hope in therapists and patients, therapeutic alliance, and treatment outcome. Vibh Forsythe
(3rd year graduate student - OSU Clinical Psychology). Vibh joined the MAPS lab in 2007, after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky. During her first year, Vibh completed a project on the relationships among rumination, mindfulness, and psychological distress. She is currently working on her Masters thesis, which focuses on the use of emotion regulation strategies by individuals with personality disorders. Contact Vibh at: forsythe.49@osu.edu



Ryan Hansen
(1st year graduate student - OSU Clinical Psychology). Ryan joined the MAPS lab in 2009, after completing an M.S. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Kansas. While at KU, Ryan studied cognitive factors that influence vocational choice. His interests include investigating novel therapy approaches informed by the growing field of positive psychology. Jane Heiy
(2nd year graduate student - OSU Clinical Psychology). Jane joined the MAPS lab in 2008, after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky. After completing her degree at UK, Jane spent a year as a research assistant studying infant cognitive development. Sophie Lazarus
(1st Year graduate student - OSU Clinical Psychology). Sophie joined the MAPS lab in 2009, after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware. Before starting graduate school Sophie worked as a research assistant studying mood and personality disorders at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is interested in personality disorders and emotion dysregulation. Ciara Stigen
(2nd year graduate student - OSU Clinical Psychology). Ciara moved to Columbus, OH from Minneapolis and joined the MAPS lab in 2008. She completed her undergraduate degree at Hamline University and held a position with the Diverse Racial and Ethnic Groups and Nations (DREGAN) project through the Tobacco Research Program in Minneapolis before starting graduate school. Ciara is interested in mood disorders, interpersonal relationships, substance use disorders, and multicultural issues. During her first year, she will be working on the validation in treatment study. Undergraduate Honor's Thesis Students

Alexia Holovatyk
is a junior with a major in Psychology and minors in Women's Studies and Sexuality Studies. Her honor's thesis is a study of goal pursuits and goal blockages for high and low hope individuals.

Morgan Dynes
is a senior Psychology major with interests in child clinical psychology. She has been a member of the MAPS lab since her sophomore year. Morgan is completing her honors thesis on emotion regulation use for individuals high in Neuroticism.
